Long Story Short. . .
Alamo Wildlife Taxidermy was founded in 1989 by James & Linda Poerner, who have worked in the taxidermy industry for over 30 years.
From a young age, James was painting and drawing using a variety of mediums, such as oil paints and pencils. Discovering the art of taxidermy, he found a way to combine his love of art and hunting. Following his passions, James went on to win numerous awards at the State and National levels.
James and Linda have been members of the Texas Taxidermy Association for over 25 years, and served on the board of directors.
Alongside James and Linda, an outstanding crew of artists and taxidermists have joined the Alamo Wildlife team.

James Poerner
Owner/Operator
James was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He combined his love of art and hunting to enter the world of taxidermy, opening Alamo Wildlife Taxidermy in Comfort, TX over 30 years ago. He still enjoys hunting trips, and spends time hanging out with his kids and grandkids.
Linda Poerner
Owner/Operator
Linda grew up in Floresville, TX, making a career helping people as a registered nurse. After retiring from nursing, she has assisted her husband, James, with Alamo Wildlife Taxidermy in finishing and customer service. She loves spending her free time as a mom and granny.
Keeley Busbee-Smith
Lead Taxidermist
Growing up as a Hill Country artist, taxidermy was a natural fit for Keeley. She enjoys using different mediums to embody the memories of her customer's hunting experiences. When she isn't at the shop creating art, she spends her time enjoying the outdoors with her children.
